Best Hypnotherapist 2026, Sutherland Shire: Why This Award Means More Than You’d Think
I didn’t put my hand up for this one.
That’s the first thing I want you to know. Being recognised as Best Hypnotherapist 2026 in the Sutherland Shire wasn’t something I campaigned for or even saw coming. It landed quietly, and honestly, that’s what made it hit so hard.
Because the work I do isn’t loud. It’s not flashy. It happens in a room, one person at a time, in the space between who someone has been told they are and who they actually are capable of being.
How It Started: From Corporate Sales to the Consulting Room
I spent fifteen years in corporate IT sales before I ever sat across from a client as a hypnotherapist. I was good at it. I understood people, I understood influence, and I understood the patterns that drive human behaviour, often better than the people living inside those patterns.
But something kept pulling at me.
I kept noticing that the most talented people in every room I walked into were also the ones quietly fighting the hardest internal battles. The high-performers who couldn’t switch off. The leaders who were brilliant in a boardroom and completely undone by self-doubt the moment they walked out. The people who had tried everything, therapy, coaching, medication, willpower, and still felt stuck in the same loop.
I wanted to do something about that. So I did.
I trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner, and I opened Newpath Hypnotherapy in Miranda six years ago. I haven’t looked back.
What I See Every Single Day
When people walk into my practice, most of them have a version of the same story. The details are different. The presenting issue might be anxiety, or overthinking, or a pattern of self-sabotage, or a fear they can’t logic their way out of. But underneath it, there’s almost always the same thing.
A label they’ve given themselves.
I’m an anxious person. I’m not good enough. I’ve always been like this. This is just who I am.
And here’s what I want to say clearly: those aren’t facts. They’re stories. Patterns that got laid down, reinforced, and eventually mistaken for identity.
Every day I work with people carrying:
- Limiting beliefs they are not even aware of
- An inner critic that runs louder than any external voice
- Overthinking that hijacks sleep, decisions, and relationships
- Cognitive biases that filter out every piece of evidence that challenges the story
- Patterns they’ve been running on autopilot for years, sometimes decades
These aren’t character flaws. They’re learned responses. And learned responses can be unlearned.
“But Does It Actually Work?”
I’ll be honest: I laugh a little every time someone asks me this. Not at them, but because I completely understand it. We’ve all grown up with a deeply distorted picture of what hypnotherapy is. The swinging pocket watch. The stage show. The idea that someone is going to make you cluck like a chicken.
Clinical hypnotherapy is nothing like that.
What it actually is, is a precision tool for accessing the part of the mind where real change happens. Not the rational, reasoning part that already knows what you should do. The deeper part, the one running the show beneath conscious awareness, the one that holds your emotional responses, your automatic patterns, your sense of self.
When you combine hypnosis with psychotherapy, NLP, and an integrative clinical framework, you’re not just talking about change. You’re creating it at a level the conscious mind rarely gets to touch.
For me, hypnotherapy isn’t an alternative therapy I added to a list. It is the primary modality I use, with psychotherapy and everything else working alongside it. The results I see, across anxiety, phobias, limiting beliefs, performance, trauma patterns, and habit change, are real, they’re measurable, and they’re lasting.
That’s not a marketing claim. It’s what six years in a consulting room looks like.
Why This Award Matters to Me
Six years ago I opened this practice on one belief: that people are capable of far more change than they’ve been told.
Not some people. Not the right kind of people. People who are exhausted, sceptical, have tried everything else, and come in half-hoping this will be different.
They are the ones who make this work worth doing.
This recognition belongs to every client who chose to trust the process when they had every reason not to. The ones who came in with a list of reasons it probably wouldn’t work for them, and walked out with something they didn’t expect. A shift. A quiet but unmistakable sense that things were different.
Being named Best Hypnotherapist 2026 in the Sutherland Shire is a reflection of those moments, not mine to keep, but mine to acknowledge with gratitude.
Who I Work With
Newpath Hypnotherapy is based in Miranda and works with adults across the Sutherland Shire, Sydney, and online.
My clients are typically high-functioning professionals, leaders, creatives, and driven individuals who have often already explored counselling, psychology, or other therapeutic modalities. They come in sceptical and specific. They want to understand what’s happening, not just feel better for a session.
I work with:
- Anxiety, stress, and overthinking
- Limiting beliefs and self-sabotage
- Performance anxiety
- Phobias
- Confidence and self-worth
- Habit and behaviour change
- Sleep issues
- Personal and professional transitions
Every programme is tailored. No scripts, no one-size-fits-all, no generic relaxation tracks. Deep, focused, clinical work, designed around you.
Curious Whether It Could Work for You?
If you’ve been carrying a pattern for longer than feels reasonable, or if you’re someone who already knows what you want to change but can’t seem to make it stick, I’d love to have a conversation.
You don’t have to be certain it will work. You just have to be open to the possibility that it might.
